I like the old school vibe...
It's not traditional chip tunes, but the low-fi synths give it that vibe. In particular I'm reminded of the old Castlevania games. Great work here!

Great!
This has a really uplifting feel to it. It just makes me feel happy! The mixing sounds spot on and everything flows nicely. Overall just a wonderful job.
thank you :D!
Nice!
Very unique blend of styles here. Well, I've never heard anything quiet like it at least. Really well done. Everything sounds spot on.
Thank you for the feedback. I strive to be original but sometimes it's hard to find my audience. I'm glad you liked it!
Beautiful
This is a very beautiful minimalist piece. Excellently done. I think the buildup near the end could have been handled better, but I enjoyed this piece enough that I won't let that effect my score of it. You really got the emotion across here, and that's exactly what great music is about. I'll have to check out some of your other works!
i've done the build up twice, figured out that somehow it should be like this. anyways i'll keep it in mind! thank you! yeah i guess i'm not that good as a composer but i put a lot of emotion in my works, feel free to check out and i hope you enjoy them!
Sounds great!
It's got a real melancholic feel. The lyrics are really heart felt. The guitar work is real plain and simple, but it's effective. If it were my piece I would probably try to spice it up by layering on another guitar that does a little more than simple chord progression, but that's just my style. Overall it's a great piece. I'll refrain from commenting on the quality but I will say that I would love to hear a v2 of this with more effort put into the production. :)
thanks alot! well I hope I can re-record this when I go to record my first E.P. with a little more density to it. :)
Excellent
Like theeketel said, you have a real knack for simple catchy melodies. I noticed that in the other two pieces I reviewed. The instruments all work together well, just as they did with the egyptian space fight song. It flows really well. I don't think the production quality is sucky as you call it. The synth's are real lo-fi sounding but I would just call that the style you are using. Overall this is another well made piece. Keep up the good work!
ah yeah I was going for something like lo-fi (not over the top production quality and stuff.) Thanks for the review, glad you liked the song :D
Serene sounding.. I like it.
I really love the feel this piece has to it. I'm not familiar with Joshua Tilman, but I do enjoy Nick Drake's works and I do hear the influence. The buildup at the end was a great finish. I really liked the way you used that distorted guitar synth to lead into it aswell. I think some of the instruments could be tweaked a little better like kjhsdgf mentioned in his posts. Creating that really natural feel you are going for with digital instruments is difficult though. I think if this piece were recorded with real drums and guitar it would be absolutely phenomenal. The wave sounds are a nice atmospheric touch. You did a good job of creating a beach kind of atmosphere. Overall, I didn't feel this piece was perfect, but I absolutely love it anyway. I can hear a great amount of song writing talent in your work.
Thanks so much for the review, nice that you noticed that distorted guitar synth. Glad you enjoyed the work. I'm also interested in hearing how this sound recorded with real instruments.
Excellent work
I can't thank you enough for all of the encouraging reviews you left me! I'm gonna return the favor, but for today this is only review I have time to write. BTW, it was even more flattering when I realized all of those positive reviews were left by someone as talented as you are. The Egypt theme is very well portrayed here. The melody and chord progressions reminded me immediately of an Egyptian setting. I can feel the space atmosphere you speak of aswell, but not as strongly. The progression was flawless. You kept the piece interesting all the way through and the transitions between the different sections of the song felt completely natural. All of the instruments fit together like puzzle pieces that were made for each other. The sort of plain "lo-fi" synth sounds give it a definate game soundtrack feel. I think the jumpy activity in the bass line is where a lot of fast paced tension feeling comes from. The percussion fit in nicely too. Overall I have no negative criticisms. This is a great example of well executed video game soundtrack music. :)
Thanks for the review. I'm glad you understood my point across. Cliche aside thanks for taking the time to listen to the song and analyze it so well.
Very nice
Really unique. I like experimental stuff. Its very refreshing! You did a good job with keeping the progression interesting up until the end.
Thanks man, I'm glad you found the track entertaining throughout! I do think it still needs beefing up quite a lot in areas, but I am glad you think that the groundwork has served the purpose I desired it to have.
My hobbies are recording music and programming stuff.
